Gomez, along with David Henrie — another original star from the series which started in 2007 — are set to executive produce the sequel alongside original writers Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas in addition to Gary Marsh and Andy Fickman. Fickman will also act as director.

In addition to producing, Gomez will appear in the pilot episode of the sequel as her original character, Alex Russo, which helped launch her into her highly successful career.

Hernrie will also appear as his original character, Justin Russo, and be a series regular in addition to new cast members Janice LeAnn Brown, Alkaio Thiele and Mimi Gianopulos.

“Get ready for the Russo’s to become a part of your family once again,” Henry commented on The Disney Channel's social media announcement of the sequel. “But we’ve grown! 2024, the year 🪄 comes back ;)”

A premiere date has yet to be revealed.
