With plans of hitting pause on making music, to focus to acting, sooner than you might think, Selena shared, “I do feel like I have one more album in me but I would probably choose acting,” when asked about her two passions by the SmartLess trio.

"I am going to want to chill because I’m tired. I wanted to be an actress, I never really intended on being a singer full-time but apparently that hobby turned into something else.”

“I don’t think I’m the best singer but I do know how to tell stories and I love being able to make songs," she continued, according to Variety.

SelGo went on to explain how her music career began and how she ended up having to juggle both singing and acting. “I started having a lot of fun with music and then touring was really fun… But I was doing my TV show (Wizards of Waverly Place) at the same time and I just found it really fun, so I just kept going.”

“Disney is, it’s safe to say, a machine and, in a way forcefully requires that I know how to sing so I could sing the theme song [of a show]. They know how to package someone and make it a whole triple threat thing,” she said.

However, as Selena admitted, since her Disney days are far behind her, her outlook has since changed. “The older I get, the more I’m kind of like, I would like to find something to just settle on.”

Gomez also opened up about the mental health struggles she suffered after overworking, a topic she also discussed with transparency in her documentary My Mind & Me. “I went to a mental institute and canceled one of my tours,” she said. “It just got to me because I love working and it distracts me from bad things.”

Currently gearing up to release her follow-up to 2020’s Rare, and her supposed last record, Selena recently checked in with us to share what fans what can expect to hear.

“I’ve been telling people that, unintentionally this has happened, where there’s actually no sad songs on this record,” Selena shared. “Vulnerability is my thing so obviously I’m telling people where I am in this stage in my life, and I feel really, really good… I’m in a really healthy space and I’m so happy. So the whole album is just a true Pop record, it’s so much fun, and it’s consistently gonna get people moving and feeling things.”
