The events took place Monday (7/29) during a children’s yoga and dance session celebrating Swift’s discography and left a number of children dead, many injured and some continuing to fight for their lives. A grief-stricken Swift took to social media Tuesday morning to share her utter shock and disgust surrounding the attack executed by a 17-year-old boy. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody, a motive is still being investigated.

“The horror of yesterday’s attack in Southport is washing over me continuously, and I’m just completely in shock,” Swift wrote to fans via Instagram. “The loss of life and innocence, and the horrendous trauma inflicted on everyone who was there, the families and first responders. These were just little kids at a dance class. I am at a complete loss for how to ever convey my sympathies to these families.”

Swifties have already started banding together to show their support for the individuals impacted by the tragedy by establishing a fundraiser for the victims and their families. As of Tuesday morning, the donations totaled more than $60,000 and were continuing to grow at a rapid rate. According to the donation page, all funds will be donated to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital as well as the funeral funds for the victims who’ve passed.

Keeping this impacted close to her heart, Swift continues her trek on her Eras Tour throughout Europe. She’s scheduled to return to the UK for five shows at Wembley Stadium beginning Aug. 15.
