Yesterday we received the following message asking for help to honor a World War II Navy Veteran.
Dalton F. Drake was a 98 year old World War II US Navy veteran who recently passed away. The Navy is not able to provide military honors at the graveside due to the Corona virus pandemic. We are hoping that military or patriotic Americans join the funeral procession on the path from Snowden Funeral home in Shavertown to Oak Lawn Cemetery in Hanover Township. We will be leaving the funeral home at 11am and taking 309 south to the Wilkes Barre Blvd exit. Continue on WB/MLK Jr. Blvd to Hazle Street to Pennsylvania Ave to Main Street to the cemetery entrance in Hanover Township where we should arrive about 11:25 amPlease maintain social distancing.
I contacted the Blacktop Warriors JEEP Club & they have agreed to line funeral procession path. You are welcome to join us as well. And you DO NOT need a JEEP to help honor this Vet.
