From taking a pill in Ibiza, to walking across the country, and now summiting Mt. Everest, Mike Posner is certainly a lot cooler than us.

Yes, you read that correctly, after 18 months of training and weeks of hiking on June 1 the GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter summited Mt. Freaking Everest!
Posner shared the news on Twitter, writing that he reached the summit at 4:35 a.m. alongside his guide, Dr. Jon Kedrowski; Dawa Chirring Sherpa; and Dawa Dorje Sherpa. “That’s what I call a sunrise,” Posner tweeted, adding that they would continue their descent into base camp the following day and were “not out of the woods.”
Posner kept his fans and followers up to date throughout his journey. And after a bit of Instagram stalking on our end, it appears Posner arrived in Nepal on April 7 and at Everest base camp on April 20, completing weeks of acclimatization hikes before eventually summiting the mountain.
Along the way, Posner fundraised for the Detroit Justice Center; through a GoFundMe account he set up just before heading to Nepal. So far he’s raised over $223,000 in donations, and is nearly at his $250,000 goal.
As we mentioned before, Posner is no stranger to adventure and previously hiked across the continental United States in 2019.
Prompted in part by the death of his father, whose career as a Detroit criminal defense attorney inspired his Mt. Everest fundraising efforts. In a video announcing the climb and fundraiser Posner said, “while my walk was about me finding myself, I want my climb to be about others.” Adding that he began training for the Everest summit just two weeks after finishing his cross-country hike in late 2019.
As for his music, last month, Posner released the new song “Jealousy,” a collaboration with blackbear, written alongside Mat Musto and Justin Bieber and produced by RetroFuture. Check it out below.
