Kim Kardashian pulled off an “Electra-fying” look.
The reality star shared a personal photo session on Instagram in which she bared some skin in a satin white backless gown with side cutouts.

While many fans hit the comments to shower “The Kardashian’s” star with compliments, some pointed out that the look may have been paying homage to the dress Carmen Electra wore at the 1998 MTV Movie Awards.
“Love me for me, ok?” Kardashian, 41, captioned the carousel of captivating images.
She let her long, jet-black hair hang loose as she opted for a makeup-free look.
Electra took notice of Kim’s photoshoot and posted her original photos on Instagram, writing: “So thrilled to find out @kimkardashian made the same dress I wore to the mtv awards in the #90s @mtvmovieawards 💋🤘🏼”
The fan-girling was mutual as Kardashian commented: “Queen!!!! Forever Inspo.”

Electra then posted a side-by-side of her ‘90s red carpet look alongside Kardashian’s recreation.
“I still have this dress I wore to the mtv movie awards in the 90’s 💋 @kimkardashian remade this designer dress and I think it’s flattering not a completion ! I think it’s cool 🤘🏼 shouting out love to the ladies always have !!!!!!!!” she captioned the photo.
Kardashian then weighed in, commenting: “The most beautiful!!!! Miss u Carmen! Forever the style icon”
Back in 2017, Electra opened up about the risque dress to Vogue, noting that it “was a mystery as to how this dress stayed on.”
She also joked that she was “on every ‘Worst Dressed’ list in that dress.”
“But I was looking at it [recently] and I was like, ‘It’s so covered today.’ In the ’90s, it was really hard [if] you wanted to wear sexy clothes,” she added.
The term “what’s old is new again” really comes to mind when observing this fashion moment!
Kardashian previously wowed fans when she hit the red carpet in a skintight custom silver latex gown created for her by Thierry Mugler before his passing.

She styled her hair in an updo with two curled strands framing her face. She also added a matching thick choker necklace.
