On a new episode of Most Requested Live, PinkPantheress joins Bennet to talk all about hit single “Boy's a liar Pt.2” featuring Ice Spice, how it feels to have Chris Martin of Coldplay singing her song, and more.
“It feels good and it feels surreal,” she said of the success of her gone viral, chart-topping hit with Ice Spice. “But I don’t leave my house that much so I don’t hear it as much as you probably do… but it does feel good, it feels great.”
Curious about what was going through her mind when she saw Chris Martin perform her song, Bennet asked PinkPantheress, who immediately replied, “he wasn’t wearing shoes when he performed… to keep it real that was the first thing I noticed. But after that, I just was thinking like I love ‘Viva La Vida.’ And honestly to keep it serious with you… my earliest memory was like listening to ‘Viva La Vida’ on like my television and like watching the video and thinking that Chris Martin was Jesus… It was just because he had the long hair, and he kinda looked like Jesus.”
Joking aside, PinkPantheress continued, “But like… similar to how I was shocked with Ice Spice knowing who I was. Knowing that Coldplay knew who I was was even crazier to me, cause I was like, I really am just this internet person and I really didn’t think Coldplay of all people would be covering ‘just for me.’”
Also up for discussion, PinkPantheress shares what it was like seeing Paramore at 14 and how she became a singer. As well as as how she views life as a video game to not take things too seriously, how “wicked” it was to work with Ice Spice, and talked future collabs, well kinda... she did mention Steve Lacy.
