It’s not unusual for Taylor Swift to use pseudonyms in the credits of her music.

The latest mystery that Swifties have been trying to crack for months is the identity of songwriter William Bowery. Bowery was given a songwriting credit on two tracks from Taylor’s latest album folklore, “Betty” and “Exile.”

The identity of William Bowery has been revealed thanks to her new Disney+ concert film Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions. William Bowery is none other than Swift’s boyfriend, Joe Alwyn.

“There’s been a lot of discussion about William Bowery and his identity because it’s not a real person,” Swift says in the film.

“So, William Bowery is Joe, as we know.”

Her film promised “an intimate concert of the record-breaking ‘folklore’” and gave fans one of the first “live” looks at the album.

"There's something about the complete and total uncertainty of life... if we're going to have to recalibrate everything, we should start with what we love the most first," Taylor said in a clip announcing the film.

Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions is now available to stream on Disney+.
