You can donate your extra Halloween candy to help treat our troops

Halloween has come and gone. But what about all that candy?

If you have an excess of the sugary stuff and don't know what you're going to do with it all, or know there's no way you can eat it all, why not donate Halloween candy to our troops fighting overseas?

The organization Soldiers' Angels will allow you to do just that with their "Treats For Troops" campaign.

"Soldiers’ Angels Treats for Troops is a Halloween Candy collection program where local businesses accept excess Halloween candy from kids in exchange for goodies," reads a notice on their official website. The most popular businesses that participate are dental offices— but it is a great program for any location— gyms, schools, churches, and more!"

The site adds: "Once collected, businesses ship the candy to Soldiers’ Angels. We will get the collected candy to deployed service members and veterans."
