It's been six weeks since Tiger Woods was severely injured in a horrific auto accident. People have wondered why everyone involved was mum on the issue. Early Wednesday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department announced they had concluded their investigation and released details.

Woods was driving approximately 87 mph in a 45 mph zone. As he approached a curve in the road, the pro golfer attempted to slow down, but he accidentally hit the gas pedal instead the brake. His SUV first knocked over a sign before crossing over the median, skidding 150 feet, slamming into a tree, going airborne, spinning in a circle while in the air, and eventually coming to a stop. Police estimate his Genesis GV80 was traveling around 75 mph when it smashed into the tree.

Onlookers called 911, and authorities said Woods was awake when they arrived on the scene but appeared "dazed and confused". They did not suspect alcohol or drugs were involved and therefore did not conduct a field sobriety test.

The PGA champion is still recovering at home. He posted a message of gratitude earlier today.
