A new art installation has united hundreds of strangers who stood in a field wearing a face mask, and nothing else.
The 220 participants gathered at Alexandra Palace in north London on Saturday for an art installation organized by Spencer Tunick, who has organized similar mass nude photographs in the past, for a piece called "Everyone Together."
CNN reports that, in accordance with social distancing guidelines, the volunteers stood one meter apart and were screened and had their temperature checked prior to participating in the event.
Tunick said in a statement that "the reality of masses of people close together -- shoulder to shoulder, skin touching skin -- may be something of the past for now, but still the desire is there for that natural connectivity, perhaps more so now than ever."
"Everyone Together," which was designed to celebrate "participation and freedom" according to organizers, was the first major participatory work of art since the United Kingdom went into lockdown in March.
