Nobody wants to hear this, especially following the mandates from Governor Abbott and the announcements from the CDC, but your mask is actually beneficial in protecting you from allergies.
Allergies are absolutely rampant right now, and Luz Fonacier, an allergist and immunologist and president of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, told the Huffington Post that wearing a face mask is one of the best ways to protect yourself from allergies.
Fonacier also recommends staying inside when the pollen counts are at their highest (midday and afternoon), keeping your car windows up, rinsing off before going to bed, and vacuuming more.
