The short clip features ominous music and evil laughter as the script for the first episode, entitled "Death by Misadventure," scrolls down the screen. The voice of Chucky is overheard saying the classic line, “You just can’t keep a good guy down” as the words “new series this fall” flash across the screen.
Mancini captioned the post, “This is no April Fools’ joke. #CHUCKY the series is officially in production and coming to @USA_Network and @SYFY this fall.”
SYFY reshared the clip and added: “We can't wait for playtime to begin. See all of you Good Guys this fall. #CHUCKY”
While the series has been delayed due to the pandemic, the first trailer was released last summer to get fans pumped for all the horror to come.
In the new update, a vintage Chucky doll turns up at a suburban yard sale and sends an American town into chaos as a series of murders begin to expose the area’s secrets. In addition, some of Chucky’s past enemies and friends arrive to potentially expose the truth behind the deaths.
The series will also explore Chucky’s demonic origin story of how an ordinary child turned into the infamous monster.
The horror franchise premiered with the 1988 film “Child’s Play” and spawned six sequels, with the 2017 film “Cult of Chucky” being the most recent.
A 2019 remake of the original starred Aubrey Plaza, Bryan Tyree Henry and “Star Wars” icon Mark Hamill as the voice of Chucky.
Jennifer Tilly, who portrayed Tiffany Valentine in the 1998 sequel “Bride of Chucky,” is set to reprise her role in the upcoming series.
Other members of the cast include Zackary Arthur, Teo Briones, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Björgvin Arnarson and Devon Sawa.
