Elliot Page was so stressed out on the set of “Inception” his health was compromised.
In his new memoir, “Pageboy”, Page writes of his time on the Christopher Nolan 2010 thriller and how intense things got.
"Shingles popped out of my spine while filming 'Inception' when I was twenty-two," he writes. "In a cast full of cis men, I did not understand the role I found myself in."
Page came out publicly as a trans man in 2020. He remembers his castmates (Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt) “being delightful to work with.”
“For the first two weeks of the film I joked I would be recast with Keira Knightley, and rightfully so,” the actor writes. “Shingles communicated the stress my body felt, what my words could not.”
Page came out as gay in 2014 and as transgender in 2020.
“Pageboy” is available now.
