While Stamos might be the one posing in the photo, fans of the sitcom will only see Uncle Jesse as he embraces Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen, who brought Michelle Tanner to life for eight seasons.

“#TBT Fresh off the stage at Studio 54 playing the shape-shifting Emcee in the Broadway production of CABARET- I got a lovely visit from my TV nieces, Mary-Kate & Ashley,” he captioned the photo, adding, “Special memories.”

According to Today, the photo was taken in 2002 following Stamos’ Broadway musical.

One fan noted: “I love everything about this.”

Another user wrote: “I hope you are still in great touch with Mary Kate and Ashley.”

It’s rare to see the twins, 35, who were roughly nine-years-old when the show went off the air, with their former co-stars as they both turned down multiple offers to revisit their joint character in Netflix’s “Fuller House." The reboot featured the remainder of the iconic cast reprising their roles for five seasons from 2016 to 2020.

The Olsen twins left behind acting for a career in fashion with their collection "The Row."

And while fans were definitely disappointed that they didn’t even agree to do a cameo, Stamos previously told Andy Cohen on “Watch What Happens Live” that he supported their decision after co-star Lori Loughlin likened their success in the fashion world to winning an Oscar.

“I remember Lori saying to me, ‘It’s like, they won two or three CFDA Awards. That’s like winning two or three Oscars. If you won three Oscars, would you come back and do this?’" he explained, adding,  "I was like, ‘Yeah, maybe not.'"

In June 2021, Mary-Kate gave a rare interview and admitted that she and Ashely choose to live a “discreet” lifestyle because of how they grew up.

Stamos previously opened up to Insider about his character’s famous “Have mercy!” catchphrase. While promoting his host role for the podcast “The Grand Scheme: Snatching Sinatra,” he said the line was inspired by a line in Roy Orbinson’s song titled “Oh, Pretty Woman.”

"It was a good catchphrase to have, 'cause people could use it, and it sort of means like, 'Hey, that person's good looking or something,'" he explained.
