Could he be any more literary?
It looks like Matthew Perry has already settled into the celebrity tell-all book stage of his career. The “Friends” star, 57, recently signed a seven-figure deal to write the book.

Perry will be the first member of the show's cast to release an autobiography.
“There has been so much written about me by others in the past,” Perry told People. “I thought it was time people heard it directly from the horse’s mouth. In this case, the horse’s mouth being me.”
During the recent mega-popular “Friends” reunion special on HBO Max, Perry shocked his co-stars when he discussed the levels of anxiety he felt to get laughs from the “Friends” studio audience, and the feelings of inadequacy he felt if his co-stars got bigger laughs.
As Deadline noted, Flatiron Books -- a division of Macmillan -- won the worldwide rights, essentially taking the book off the table ahead of an auction.
This is not only exciting news for the “Friends” fandom, but a good idea on Perry’s part, as he’s the first to jump into this tell-all pool.
For the publisher’s part, they are pushing the fact that the book will err on the side of humor and hopefulness.
“We need humor, we need catharsis, and we need to agree on something,” said Perry’s publisher, Megan Lynch, “and Matthew’s extraordinary story, told in his inimitable voice, is that thing.” She added that the book will have the power to bring people together, something we can use in the current climate of “isolation and division.”
The book, which doesn’t have a title just yet, will be published by Flatiron Books in the fall of 2022.
