Fairbrass, 67, was transferred to the hospital via ambulance after experiencing breathing difficulties over the past week. Speaking to reporters outside his home after four days of oxygen treatment and observation, Fairbrass said, "I've had a bit of COVID, it wasn’t too bad. I was a little breathless, I felt very tired." Adding, he will "absolutely not" be getting the vaccine even though he's already faced the alarming effects of the coronavirus. "This vaccine is only for experimental use, it's on trial until 2023, there is no long-term data on it - anyone who takes it is foolish," he said. "Come 2023 and everything is fine, I'll do it then."

Back in June, when rockers the Foo Fighters were gearing up to bring their Return of Rock back to New York City's Madison Square Garden for a fully vaccinated crowd, the "I'm Too Sexy" singer injected his thoughts on vaccine mandates into the conversation saying, "music is meant to build bridges, not destroy them," on Twitter. Adding, "I wouldn’t buy an experimental car, I wouldn’t fly in an experimental plane and I won’t take an experimental vaccine." Fairbrass had also previously attended anti-lockdown protests with his band and branded the vaccine a "scam."
