Multiple students from a high school in Greenwood County were taken to a local hospital as part of an investigation into illegal substances being distributed on campus.
District 52 School Officials say that a number of students were questioned after administrators and the School Resource Officer at Emerald High School were alerted to drug activity, Friday.
The District says one student admitted to distributing the illegal substance to four other students. Those four were transported by EMS, and another student was taken by a parent to a local hospital for evaluation.
The District has not issued any update on the condition of those students nor did they specify what the illegal substance was. The student that distributed the substance is set to face criminal charges.
