A mother has been arrested and charged with both the murder and attempted murder of her children.
Authorities say 37-year-old Jamie Bradley Brun drowned one of her daughters in their midlands home before trying to kill another child.
The oldest daughter was then woken up by the screams and managed to save the sister.
Investigators say Brun was arrested after the early Friday attack in their home on St. Helena Island.
Beaufort County Sheriff P.J. Tanner says Brun’s 16-year-old daughter managed to fight her off to save one 8-year-old child, but that the youngest 6-year-old girl had already been killed.
Brun is being held without bond. A motive for the killings has not been released.
Tanner says more information is currently known that cannot yet be shared. We will have more as new details are released.
