The show will go on at the WWE's facilities in Orlando after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis deemed the wrestling corporation an "essential business." That news was shared by Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings at a press briefing on Monday. "They were not initially deemed an essential business. With some conversation with the governor's office...they were deemed an essential business. So therefore, they were allowed to remain open," Demings said. ESPN adds that a memo sent out last week by DeSantis' office stipulates that "professional sports and media production with a national audience" can carry on with business as usual "if the location is closed to the general public." A DeSantis rep also told the outlet that the WWE got an essential-business exemption "because they are critical to Florida's economy." However, as TMZ reports, an unidentified WWE employee was diagnosed with coronavirus this past weekend. Demings said about that confirmed COVID-19 case, "If one of my family members tested positive in my house, that would be concerning to me...I would assume that from a business perspective, the WWE is doing that type of analysis of its own family."
