On Friday, the Illinois Supreme Court refused Jussie Smollett's petition to drop the new charges filed against him last month, according to Page Six. “This issue with Smollett … excuse my language, it’s bulls**t,” said Chicago State's Attorney Kim Foxx, who initially dropped the charges against the actor. “We have an abysmal homicide clearance rate; we have horrible violence; and [the attention is on> this case about a low-level offense with an actor who pulled a prank,” she said in an interview. Smollett was indicted last month by a grand jury for staging a hate crime against himself, encouraged by special prosecutor who is charging him with felony charges similar to those he faced one year ago.
