Initially announced as deluxe edition of SOS, then as a stand alone separate album (due to leaks), SZA finally put a release date to LANA on the two-year anniversary of SOS, announcing it was once again a deluxe of the original album.

Hours before the album’s arrival SZA posted on Instagram promising, “FULL DELUXE DROPS FIRST THING TOMORROW AM🫡,” of Friday, December 20, and also reported she “Had to get my mixes right lol ! All songs are delivered and Ingesting into the system as we speak🙂‍↕️ pls be kind .. we been up for days.” Shared alongside a bugged out visual, the post’s caption also mentioned “FULL DRIVE VIDEO /CRYBABY out now - STARRING @benstiller Directed by @bradleyjcalder.”

SZA also took to her IG stories to double down on the message that she “just needed a few more hours for new mixes to ingest evenly across all platforms.” Promising LANA would be out “tomorrow AM.”

As we waited and waited, and morning turned into afternoon, for those of us on the East Coast, it became quite clear SZA probably meant “AM” Pacific Time. Which after months of waiting… what was another a few more hours?

Confirming as such, Punch, the president of SZA’s label, Top Dawg Entertainment, took to X to verify the album would be out 12PM PT, adding, “It’s my fault.”

As promised, LANA is pretty much a whole new album, with 15 new songs, including the previously released “Saturn” and latest single, “Drive.” It also includes previously teased songs like “Diamond Boy (DTM)” and “BMF,” plus a brand new feature from Kendrick Lamar on the track “30 for 30.” Returning the favor just weeks after SZA appeared on two tracks on his latest album GNX.

The album also sees productions from Lil Yachty and Benny Blanco as well as previous SOS producers and writers like Michael Uzowuru, ThankGod4Cody, Rob Bisel, Carter Lang and more.

Well….? Stop bugging and start listening, SOS Deluxe: LANA is finally here — just press play below.
