Guitarist Ricky Byrd spent over a decade as a member of Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, starting with the album "I Love Rock N' Roll". He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame with the band in 2015.
He has also recorded and toured with Roger Daltrey, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Bruce Springsteen and others.
Ricky has been sober for over 30 years and has provided addiction recovery support to many of his fellow musicians.
He has just released a new solo album "Sobering Times" which features longtime Billy Joel drummer Liberty DeVitto and members of Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes.
Ricky talked with Dave O'Brien about the album; about his time with Joan Jett and about being sober in the world of Rock N' Roll.
