Legendary guitarist Steve Cropper is a founding member of Booker T. & The M.G.'s and The Blues Brothers and spent many years as a songwriter and guitarist at the Stax Records studios in Memphis.
Cropper co-wrote and played guitar on classic songs such as "Soul Man" (Sam and Dave); "Sittin' On The Dock Of The Bay" (Otis Redding) and "Midnight Hour" (Wilson Pickett). He has performed with Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Neil Young and three of the four Beatles.
Cropper just released the solo album "Fire It Up" and talked to Dave O'Brien about the it and about his amazing career, including how he came up with the instantly recognizable guitar intro on "Soul Man".
