Legendary drummer Carmine Appice got his start in the band Vanilla Fudge in the 1960's. He has gone on to provide the backbeat for everyone from Rod Stewart to Ozzy Osbourne to Paul Stanley and dozens of others.

Over the years he has also released solo albums and a series of albums called "Guitar Zeus" featuring guitar greats like Slash, Brian May, Ted Nugent, Neal Schon of Journey, Mick Mars of Motley Crue and Zakk Wylde.

Appice is releasing all of the "Guitar Zeus" albums in a new 25th anniversary 3-CD box set that also features previously unreleased collaborations and a full-color booklet with behind-the-scenes photos and interviews.

Appice talked to Dave O'Brien about the project; about his lengthy and varied career; about influencing a new generation of drummers with his 1968 appearance on "The Ed Sullivan Show" and about writing Rod Stewart's #1 smash "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy".
