Gov't Mule is releasing "Heavy Load Blues" this month, their first-ever full blues album.
Warren Haynes has been the guitarist and vocalist for Gov't Mule since their beginning over 20 years ago. He has also played guitar for The Allman Brothers Band, Phil Lesh and Friends (and other incarnations of the post-Jerry Garcia Grateful Dead), Dave Matthews Band, David Allan Coe and many others.
Haynes talked to Dave O'Brien about the new album, about his early discovery of the blues and about sharing the stage with his heroes in The Allman Brothers Band.
