The PIN pad used during checkout is the germiest surface at grocery stores.  Researchers visited 24 grocery stores to swab the following high-touch surfaces including shopping cart handle, front of the shopping cart, baby seat, basket handle, freezer door handle and PIN pad.The PIN pad had the most germs followed by the basket handle. Tied for third place were the freezer door handle and the front of the shopping cart.And the cleanest surface in grocery stores was the shopping cart handle.
