The Strokes are definitely one of my top 3 favorite bands of all time. And while I'm not cool enough to get to see them perform in Brooklyn on New Year's Eve, I am comforted knowing that they have new music coming out soon!
During their New Year's Eve show at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn, frontman Julian Casablancas told the crowd that the band will have a new album coming out in 2020!
“2020, here we come. The 2010s, whatever the fuck they’re called, we took ‘em off. And now we’ve been unfrozen and we’re back.” said Casablancas. The band then performed "Ode To The Mets", a new song off of the forthcoming album.
Over the last few years the band members had been working on solo and side projects with Albert Hammond Jr. doing his own thing and Julian Casablancas forming The Voidz.
So don't mind me, I'll just be over here eagerly awaiting their new album!
