Richmond has such a creative spirit, and the creation of Small Town RVA is one of many examples of that spirit. Word of this 32-bit, retro inspired game has spread and it has gained many new fans and users in the past few weeks. I talked to Tripp Cannella, the creator of Small Town RVA, about his inspiration behind the game, upcoming additions (perhaps our beloved Francine will be added?) and more.
Cannella has spent the last 5 years working to build the game out and he says he wants it to be a not just a game, but a place where local creatives can connect and collaborate. Users can upload photos, connect with friends, and explore Richmond landmarks like Maymont and Hollywood Cemetery.
You can also hear the new in-game theme for the Japanese Gardens at Maymont towards the end of this interview! Special thanks to artist Professor Stringbean for creating and allowing us to use it!
