During her Monday visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live, guest hosted by Arsenio Hall, the "Till Death" actress disclosed that she and Kelly flew to Costa Rica to try ayahuasca, a psychoactive tea reported to in a "proper setting with indigenous people" induce auditory and visual hallucinations and have therapeutic effects to treat various ailments like anxiety, trauma and more.

As Fox explained, they arrived at a location she was previously informed as well known for catering to celebrities looking to go on a spiritual journey. However, quickly discovered it was just the remote jungle.

“So I was thinking it was like glamping, like it was gonna be some kind of five-star experience,” she quipped. "But you get there and you really are in the middle of the jungle, and you don't get to eat after like 1PM," she continued. "You have to walk a very far distance to get your water, and you can't shower because they're in a drought. There was nothing glamorous about it, and it's all a part of making you vulnerable, so you sort of surrender to the experience.”

Interesting….

Fox continued to detail the spiritual ceremony, which began with herself, Kelly and about "20 other strangers" engaging in a preliminary ceremony, which Fox admitted that she and Kelly had reservations about at first since it involved throwing up in front of strangers. However, she ultimately regarded it as a "good bonding experience,” that "gets you ready to go into the ceremony that night" by stripping you of any vanity.

"You all line up at the edge of the rainforest, over this weird fence, and you go three by three and you drink lemongrass tea until you, not by your own volition, just vomit everything out of your body," Fox explained. "And you have to vomit a certain amount until they let you get back with everyone else, so you're like cheering on everyone as they throw up.”

Again, interesting…

When it came to the ceremony itself, Fox revealed her experience lasted three nights, and noted the whole thing as being "incredibly intense.”

"Everybody's journey is different, but on the second night I went to Hell for eternity," Fox shared. "Just knowing it's eternity is torture in itself, because there's no beginning, middle or end. So you have a real ego death.”

Despite all that, Megan went on to say that the trip was a positive journey that exceeded talk therapy or hypnotherapy for the simple reason that "it just goes straight into your soul, and it takes you to the psychological prison that you hold yourself in. So it's your own version of hell, and I was definitely there."

While our usual date night beverage consists of some type of citrus infused cocktail, Megan’s account of her journey to “hell” and back does actually sound quite, what’s the word we’re looking for…? Oh yeah - interesting. BRB, looking up flights to Costa Rica.
