It looks like new Nine Inch Nails music will be arriving sooner than we thought with news of a new Tron soundtrack showing up in fans’ feeds over the weekend shared by the band themselves.

On Friday (8/9) at the D23 fan club event in Anaheim, CA, Disney revealed that Nine Inch Nails would be tackling the score for Tron: Ares, the company’s third film in the futuristic sci-fiction series directed by Joachim Rønning and featuring Jared Leto, Evan Peters, Greta Lee, and Jeff Bridges, which is set for release in October of next year.

Following the event, Nine Inch Nails dropped the news on their social accounts with the caption, "You’re going to get what you deserve," from their 1989 Pretty Hate Machine single "Head Like A Hole," and the date 10.10.25.

Though Nine Inch Nails members Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are well known now for scoring quite a few award-winning flicks (Soul, The Social Network), what makes this new project special is that the soundtrack is being attributed to the band itself rather than the duo, and will feature all-new original songs -- NIN’s first since 2020’s Ghosts.

Get ready, because it looks like the band is actually coming through on their promise to fans that they had a lot to share in the coming months, including of course their collaboration with Dr. Martens.

15 years since its last installment, Tron: Ares follows 2010’s Daft Punk-scored Tron: Legacy. No official trailer has yet been made available.

"It’s really unbelievable to think we made the original in 1982," Bridges told the crowd during the event. "We never thought it would have this legacy that’s continued on all these years, but here we are. What a beautiful time to bring this back. What a perfect time to revisit this amazing world. More appropriately, to say this amazing world visit us."
