Chock full of emojis and all-caps, WILLOW announced on her social channels that her new album Lately I Feel EVERYTHING will hit shelves and streaming services on July 16, with pre-orders available now. "Listen to my NEW SONG 'LIPSTICK' OUT NOW," she added while shouting out photographer and set designer Dana Trippe "for always helping me execute my visions so authentically."
While a full tracklist is still forthcoming, we've already been treated to WILLOW's pop-punk side on her "transparent soul" single featuring Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. We also got a little inside scoop from her recently; speaking with Audacy's Kevan Kenney, Willow said she had a "full 2008" song in the works with Avril Lavigne.
"Avril inspired me so much when I was younger, inspired my taste in music, inspired my femme-rock star inspiration," Willow told us, adding that fans can expect, "Radio Disney, pop-punk, wearing a dress over jeans... we’re going full 2000s with this!”
“I just wanted to let loose with this album. I wanted to have fun and be young and not be so existential and worrying all the time,” WILLOW says. “I thought this was a really dope outlet for a new energy I wanted to bring to my music."
Exciting times for WILLOW and all of us who have been feeling her angsty Alterna-vibes amid the chaos of 2021. We can't wait to hear what she has in store for us next!
