The defiant genre-crossing artist recently surprised fans during the lead up to the release of his new single, which will appear on Kelly’s upcoming sixth album and second collaboration with Travis BarkerBorn With Horns.

"i shaved my head for this @_ColeBennett_ 'papercuts' tomorrow 9pm," MGK tweeted along with screenshot of his FaceTime with the music video director himself. Obviously the internet freaked out, us included, in reaction to MGK’s new look and previously unbeknownst ink.

As it turns out, it was in fact a bald cap all along, as some clearly smarter than us fans caught on to right away. In the video, which btw is an straight up visual vibe, not only did MGK dupe us about parting ways with his bleached blond lob, but he also sported quite a few new looks, including an Edward Scissorhands situation that we were very much here for.

The big reveal came at one minute and 40 seconds, but tbh once we peeped his naked skull for real and not just in a blurry screenshot, due to some visible seems and suspicious wrinkling, it was actually pretty obvious.

Nevertheless, it was cool while it lasted, but like we said, we’re glad it wasn’t for real. Additionally, not that anyone asked, but we’re also glad, Kelly took this as an opportunity to update his scraggly face covering locks to, what is in our opinion, a much cuter vibe.
