Omar Torres is an actor, musician and radio personality from the New York City Metropolitan area. While being born and raised in Rockland County, his parents Brooklyn & Bronx roots played a big role in his upbringing.
From an early age, ice hockey, rock music, and films were something that Omar was extremely passionate about. At age 11 his parents bought him his first musical instrument. A drum set. He eventually switched over to learning guitar and singing. Since age 14 he has been in and out rock bands, playing live, writing and recording music. Omar also studied music production/audio engineering at The Institute Of Audio Research in New York City.
In addition to spending countless hours in front of loud guitar amps with his band, Omar has made a career out of playing new music and talking to music fans on the radio. From behind the mic to being in front of the camera, Omar’s acting skills have been featured on highly acclaimed network TV shows such as Daredevil(Netflix), Blue Bloods(CBS), Sneaky Pete(Amazon), High Maintenance(HBO), Shades OF Blue(NBC), Bull(CBS), Gotham(FOX) and Quantico(ABC) to name a few. His last film "PLOY" won numerous awards in multiple film festivals. "PLOY" was also part of the Cannes Film Festival 'Short Film Corner' in 2016 and can be streamed on Amazon Prime. Omar Torres lives and breathes music, film, and Pop culture. He has proven that one person can do it all!
Fun fact about Omar Torres… He began skating at age four and eventually went on to spend several years bouncing around in the minor league ice hockey circuit (USA/Europe). His first pro camp was with the NHL's Edmonton Oilers minor league affiliate, The Odessa Jackalopes of the Central Hockey League (CHL) in 2006 before heading to Europe. Eventually he hung up the skates to pursue a career as a radio personality and actor.
