Those of us here in Sacramento are well aware of Apple Hill, but if you're looking for something a little different AND a way to cool down in the heat (because we ALL know it's still hot in the fall), you'll wanna check out Gizdich Ranch in Watsonville.
I came across Gizdich Ranch on Only In Your State and was immediately drawn to their cider slushies. This place is family-friendly and very similar to what you'd find at Apple Hill, but it's past the Bay on your way to Monterey.
Along with those refreshing cider slushies, Gizdich also serves up heaping plates of pie with vanilla ice cream. They serve slices of raspberry, apple, blackberry, strawberry, and pumpkin, all of which look and sound incredibly delicious.
You can also pick up fresh fruit, jams, juice, pie making tools, gifts, and more while you're there.
This place has everything you'd find up at Apple Hill, but just a different location if you're looking to switch things up and take a day trip south of the Bay.
