Enjoying some time off in New Orleans, Skiba, known for his tenure fronting the band Alkaline Trio as well as filling in for Blink-182 founder Tom DeLonge while he fights the good fight against/for (?) UFOs, posted a series of photos showing what he got up to in the city, mostly involving WWII remembrance. As well as general Nawlins and armed forces praise, the comments section quickly filled with fan questions asking whether or not the musician was still an official member of the Blink family.

Fan account "blink182italia" screenshot his response for posterity, which shows Skiba is without a doubt uncertain about his future with the group. "You guys think he is still in Blink?” user @blinkinpark89 commented. "Your guess is as good as mine," Matt replied. "Regardless, I am very proud of and thankful for my time with Blink 182. We shall see…" For context, DeLonge has stated an interest in rejoining the group in the recent past.

Skiba has been a part of the band, rounded out by drummer Travis Barker and bassist Mark Hoppus, since 2015 and has been a favorite among fans as they continue to record and tour. Blink-182's most recent album, Nine, was released in 2019 on which Skiba is credited, as well as 2016's California. Alkaline Trio's last full-length release was 2018's Is This Thing Cursed? In 2020, the band dropped their three-song E.P. and hit the road with Punk icons Bad Religion on a co-headlining tour in 2021.
