"Friends, family, lovers, acquaintances from a past life - we have a new song," Porno For Pyros shared on social media, teasing their final new song "Fingernail" last week.

"It was originally supposed to come before the tour, we tried, but even the best laid plans don’t always work out. It’s a beautiful song, one that we hope resonates with you as it does with us... for now, be well."

The final new song arrives on the heels of last year's farewell Horns, Thorns En Halos tour, which also saw the band debuting new/old tracks written in the nineties and recorded today, including “Agua,” "Little Me," and "Pete's Dad." “Getting together with these guys has been some of the most fun, the happiest times in my life,” frontman Perry Farrell said at the time.

"The moment the melody touched the words I knew it would be a special song," Farrell said in a statement along with the new track. "But I was too immature to understand the essence fully,” he continues. "There is no pain in the cutting of our hair, eyelashes or a fingernail, because they are dead, although the world at every instant is renewed. The death invested within us is pushed out, and the soul is again restored." Bassist Martyn LeNoble adds, "In ‘Fingernail,’ I hear our lives, and yours. Decades of growing. Happiness, heartbreak, tension, loss and joy… growing pains. In this case it took almost 30 years for this song to slowly grow into what it is now. And, the way the song ends…. I love redemption songs. I’d say we ended it well."
