This brewery hiding in a forest north of Sacramento has 'Virgin River' vibes

Spending time here is like living in the Netflix series, 'Virgin River.'

There's a brewery hiding on a 15-acre forest just north of Sacramento, and in my opinion, it has some serious Virgin River vibes.

The Brewing Lair is a craft brewery tucked away in a forest in Blairsden, California, about three hours north of Sacramento, that serves year-round and seasonal ales.

The brewery itself has absolutely nothing to do with the Netflix series, Virgin River, but all the photos I've seen of it remind me of this show (which actually takes place in the Eureka area, but was filmed in British Columbia). It is, however, a great place to kick back with a beer, play disc golf, listen to live music, fire up a grill for BBQ, and take your dog for a walk through the woods (with your beer, of course).

They don't make any of their own food, but they have the Ricochet Cafe Food Truck on site Thursday through Tuesday with menu items like tacos, salads, fries, and desserts.

It's locally owned and operated by Susan, a brewer and former restaurateur, and Rich, a carpenter. Susan and Rich opened The Brewing Lair in 2011 when both of them were looking for a new project to work on. Opening a great place to kick back and relax seemed like a great place to start, and the rest is obviously history!

The Brewing Lair is located at 67007 CA Hwy 70, Blairsden, CA 96103. To get to the general area, you basically drive to Truckee and then take 89 north until you get to Blairsden and that'll take roughly three hours from Sac.

Check out their website here, and check out their vibe through photos on Instagram.
