Flea speaks with Billie Eilish's brother and musical co-creator FINNEAS about his education and evolution, after first seeing Green Day when he was younger through his GRAMMY Award-winning work with Billie, his own solo offerings and collaborating with artists like Ashe, Ringo Starr, Justin Bieber, Halsey, Demi Lovato, Kid Cudi, Selena Gomez, Camila Cabello, and Tove Lo among others, as well as his growing soundtrack portfolio. Rick Rubin is known as not just a super-producer who has worked with the likes of Tom Petty to Adele, Johnny Cash to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys to Slayer, Kanye West to The Strokes, and System of a Down to Jay-Z. He's also a prolific podcaster and a close friend of Flea's. In their chat, the two discuss Rick's falling in love with The Beatles at just 3 or 4 years old and chasing that feeling of "transcendence" for the rest of his life. "I wanted to do This Little Light to benefit my music school, the Silverlake Conservatory of Music," Flea said in a statement announcing the new venture. "The idea behind it being music education, falling in love with music, and embarking on a musical journey for your life. Everybody’s path is so different, and it’s fascinating to learn how every musician came to music and developed their study of it over time."

Hosted by Flea, founding member and bassist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, This Little Light is a podcast about falling in love with music. Flea interviews musical guests from all genres to discuss the teachers who guided them, the influences that inspired them, and how the lessons they learned as young musicians have shaped their creativity, resilience, and careers. Guests range from legends to rising stars, and include Rick Rubin, Patti Smith, Thundercat Margo Price, and Cynthia Erivo. The podcast is produced by Cadence13 and Parallel, with proceeds benefiting the Silverlake Conservatory of Music, a Los Angeles-based non-profit that Flea co-founded in 2001.
