Who says job hunting can’t involve a stiff cocktail?
Thrillist reports an employment opportunity that seems like a magical made-up position in some adult version of Willy Wonka’s factory.
Jose Cuervo is looking for its first-ever Chief Margarita Officer. And as if that job isn’t like the perk of perks, there are more good perks with this gig.
As at-home mixology became much more common during the lockdown, recipes for new cocktails were all the rage, and with summer here, the trend has not abated. So, Jose Cuervo wants to answer the call for more original recipes, and needs help from some lucky kitchen barkeep out there.
Chief Margarita Officer is not the only role the company is looking to fill though. You can also apply to be Chief Paloma Officer, Chief Tequila Officer, Chief Tequila Sunrise Officer, or Chief Bloody Maria Officer -- depending on your favorite tequila-based specialty.
All you have to do is submit a short clip about which position you're applying for and why you're the right fit for it at CuervoCabinetContest.com.
Those aforementioned perks? Each of the five lucky mixologists hired to join the "Cuervo Cabinet" will get their own Cuervo Corporate Card that includes $1,000 to spend on tequila cocktails and ingredients.
They'll also have the chance to “weigh in on Jose Cuervo cocktail recipes that will be published on Cuervo.com, and will be flown to Tequila, Mexico, on an all-expenses-paid trip to visit La Rojeña, the oldest active distillery in Latin America, and to attend the first-ever Cuervo Cabinet meeting.”
All entries must be in no later than July 6. And no, a hangover is not an excuse for a late entry.
Okay, so this isn’t like a real jobby-job, in fact it’s a contest. But it’s still awesome work if you can get it. Cheers!
