DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) -- Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said University of Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley, a possible target as the team's coach to replace Jason Garrett, is impressive.

But to link him to the Cowboys, at this point, is total speculation.

"That was totally drawn out of the air," Jones said on his weekly show with The Fan's Shan & RJ. "I think that Coach Riley is outstanding. It doesn't surprise me because of proximity and his success, but it's total speculation."

Jones also responded to a report that during the bye week, the Cowboys front office was considering taking away the play-calling dueies away from offensive coordinator Scott Linehan. Jones called the reports "completely false."

“Totally false" said Jones. "That was never a discussion. Never a thought, on my part…that did not happen."

Jerry's comments were similar to COO Stephen Jones' answer on The Fan.
