Mike and Slim from 112 caught up with RADIO.COM's Ramona DeBreaux from V-103 in Atlanta, to talk new music and Mike’s current battle with COVID-19.

The conversation started off with Slim, as he disclosed that fellow group member Mike was at home,“fighting the virus,” referring to the current worldwide pandemic of COVID-19. However, he assured those of us listening that Mike was in “great spirits” and asked for thoughts and prayers during this time.

The two have been working on an EP which they introduced to great reception during their recent Verzuz battle against Jagged Edge. Slim recalled the “positive and overwhelming turnout” of responses asking for the new music to be released, saying, “and that’s exactly what we’re doing, we’re giving the fans exactly what they’re asking for.”

The duo is dropping new music and an accompanying music video every two weeks, they started off with “Spend it All,” next up is “For Us,” which listeners got a sneak peek of, followed by a third track with a “Caribbean vibe.” All leading to their EP, 112 Forever, which is scheduled for an August 21 release.

Mike also jumped on to update us on his current status, “I’m still here… but this COVID is real… it’s not a game, people need to put a mask on and take this thing seriously.” Disclosing to Ramona that he’s been ill since the 16th of July and that this is the sickest he has ever been.

After shooting three music videos, he believes he was exposed to the virus on the set of the third one. At first thinking it was a simple head cold, due to the high powered AC on the bus. However after not getting better after a few days, he decided to get tested for Coronavirus, receiving his positive results four days later.

Mike has experienced many of the symptoms, including loss of taste and smell, which he just recently got back, however is still dealing with the respiratory issues of coughing and shortness of breathe.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mike as concentrates on his health and a speedy recovery.
