PHILADELPHIA (94WIP) -- The Philadelphia Phillies' newest superstar is already hinting that another one could be coming soon.

Bryce Harper didn't leave much to the imagination Saturday during his introductory press conference when he mentioned that his relatively low annual salary could allow the Phillies to bring in more talent.

"I'm making like $26 (million) a year or something like that, so I think that's going to be able to bring some other guys in as well to be able to help this organization win," Harper told reporters. "I know there's another guy in about two years that comes up off the books, so we'll see what happens with him."

That other guy was clearly the player that Phillies fans have been dreaming about for years: Los Angeles Angeles outfielder Mike Trout, a South Jersey native and Philadelphia sports fan.

Harper's comments came on the same day it was a reported the Angels have "considered" offering Trout a 10-year, $350 million contract extension. That deal would top Harper's deal, but Trout is the best player in baseball and likely worth far more. The offer might even be considered a lowball offer if the Angels do make it.

The Phillies adding Trout when he becomes a free agent following the 2020 season has been discussed for years in Philadelphia. Trout has never shut the door on the possibility, and recently said he "can't predict the future" when asked about playing for the Phillies.

Giving Harper a record $330 million contract didn't hurt the Phillies' chances of landing Trout, it may have helped -- and Harper is going to lead the way to help recruit Trout to Philadelphia.
