PHILADELPHIA (94WIP) -- Free-agent quarterback Nick Foles has agreed to sign a four-year, $88 million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to multiple reports.
The deal contains $50.125 million in guaranteed money, per ESPN, and could be worth up to $102 million with incentives, per NFL Network.
Foles, 30, leaves Philadelphia as a hero after beating Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII two seasons ago.
Foles informed the Eagles on Feb. 5 that he would buy his way back into free agency, not picking up his end of a mutual option in his contract and paying the team back $2 million to do so. The Eagles elected not to franchise tag Foles for around $25 million, allowing him to become a free agent.
"We've been so fortunate the over last couple of years to have to have two top-15 quarterbacks in Carson (Wentz) and Nick," Roseman said on February 27th. "We've spent a lot of time discussing this internally and with him and we have decided to let Nick become a free-agent."
The Jaguars, who have a very talented defense and were just one win away from facing the Eagles in Super Bowl LII two seasons ago, are expected to cut Blake Bortles with two seasons remaining on his contract.
Foles, originally drafted by the Eagles in 2012, re-joined the team for a second stint before the 2017 season. Foles replaced an injured Wentz in Week 14 and led the Eagles to their first Super Bowl in franchise history, being named the Super Bowl LII MVP.
Last season, Foles was 4-1 in five starts for the Eagles, completing 72.3 percent of his passes with seven touchdowns and four interceptions, averaging 282.6 passing yards per game. With Wentz once again injured, Foles led the team to a playoff win over the Chicago Bears before falling short in the NFC Divisional round at the New Orleans Saints.
