SAN FRANCISCO (95.7 The Game) -- Steve Kerr used humor to diffuse the controversy brewing after Twitter lip readers caught the Golden State Warriors coach allegedly blasting Draymond Green during a 115-111 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night.
Asked about the exchange on Monday morning at the club's Rakuten Performance Center in Oakland, Kerr wouldn't say whether he had addressed the topic with Green.
"That's private," Kerr said with a smile.
"The lip readers were wrong," Kerr continued. "What I said was, 'I beg to differ with Draymond's approach tonight.' Those are my exact words. I don't know how somebody misconstrued that."
