DETROIT (97.1 The Ticket) -- Michigan State University has reached the Final Four of NCAA Tournament, but the school's band has an extra long journey to get there.
According to a story from reporter David Harns, the Michigan State University band will have to bus 10 hours from East Lansing to Minneapolis for the Final Four because their seats on the Spartans' flight have been taken by school trustees and other MSU staff members.
"Apparently, the reason is because the Trustees, as well as other MSU staff members, are taking their spots on the plane," Harns wrote on Twitter. "The band is incredibly dedicated to MSU athletics; it's unfortunate that they were bumped off the flight. I'm sure they'll be ok but why not just add a flight?"
The band was able to fly on the charter with the team for the opening two weeks of the NCAA Tournament.
The Spartans take on the Texas Tech Red Raiders on Saturday at 8:49 p.m. ET at U.S. Bank Stadium.
