DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to a contract extension with linebacker Jaylon Smith, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.
Smith was set to be a restricted free agent after this season. It's unknown how much Smith will earn on the deal.
The 24-year-old Notre Dame product started all 16 games last season at outside linebacker. He was second on the team in combined tackles with 121 behind Leighton Vander Esch's 140.
The Cowboys have scheduled a press conference for 4:30 today at the Star In Frisco.
105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher reported earlier this offseason that Smith could be the guy that gets his deal done before Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper.
