DALLAS - Jamal Adams told a fan that he is "trying" to come to the Cowboys, after a chance encounter while Adams was driving in a shopping center in Lewisville, Texas.
Adams, who has been linked for the Cowboys for some time now, officially requested a trade away from the New York Jets, and listed the Cowboys as one of seven desired destinations.
Though WFAN's Evan Roberts told 105.3 The Fan that there is no chance the Jets will deal Adams to Dallas, Adams has been on record for his desire to return to his native North Texas, and the smoke behind those reports does not seem to be fading.
“I can’t even get my first proposal that they said they would send over in January. I was called ‘selfish,’ though! A lot of talk, no action.'', Adams said in an Instagram post. In a separate post, Adams later wrote, “Maybe it’s time to move on.”
At the end of May, 105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher broke the story of Adams' desire to come to the Cowboys, and willingness to join his hometown team for less money, and possibly delay his extension, rather than re-sign with the team that drafted him sixth overall in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Adams has two years left on his deal with a Jets, a salary of $3.5 million for 2020, and $9.9 million in 2021.
