Active Shooter 'Neutralized' at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi

Officials with Naval Air Station Corpus Christi are now saying an early morning shooting suspect has been "neutralized," according to a Facebook post.

The individual who opened fire at the Texas base around 6 a.m. was neutralized shortly thereafter, the Navy says. The facility remains on lockdown.


One security guard was reported to be injured.

"Naval Security Forces at NAS Corus Christi responded to an active shooter at approximate 6:15 this morning. The shooter has been neutralized. All gates on the installation remain closed while first responders process the scene. NCIS and local law enforcement are on scene. More information will be provided as it becomes available," stated the post.
