In the age of coronavirus, a New Jersey priest has come up with a creative way to stay connected with his parishioners.
Mass has moved to the internet, but Catholics in Boonton can still receive the sacrement of reconcilation in person.
At Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Father Daniel O'Mullane has set up a makeshift outdoor confessional.
People can drive up to the church and walk over to the shed to confess their sins and have a heart-to-heart with their pastor in person, but at a safe distance.
"I think all of us feel a little bit disoriented but the people that I encounter are starting to see, or maybe have seen for some time, that God is their orientation and their firm footing will be to live for God and his purposes today," O'Mullane said.
